World Cup Champs

So, I'm about a month late in posting this, but hey.
Italy won the World Cup last month by defeating France in the final on penalty kicks.
Regular time ended with the game in a 1-1 tie, so the game went to the two fifteen mintue halves of overtime. Near the end of the second half of overtime, French star, and goal scorer of the game Zinedane Zidane was ejected for headbutting and Italian player.
The overtime ended a few minutes later with the game still tied, so the game went to penalty kicks. Italy made all 5 of their penalty kicks to win the shootout 5-3.
The Italians were not beaten in the World Cup, and the only game they tied was their 1-1 draw against the US.
The World Cup victory was huge for the nation and soccer as the Italian Serie A was in the middle of a match fixing scandal that has since seen 4 teams punished.
Italy's Cup championship was the country's first since 1982, and fourth overall.
